Batteries can last up to 5 years,
we go great lenghts to fine the right product for the right job!

You claim you will meet any price but when I called with a lower price you said - "Buy it from them". What gives?

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Dear Anonymous,
You'll notice we give a price guarantee based on "Exact" means by volt, amp, dimensions and warranty terms.

Very rarely does anybody beat our total cost with the same quality and 2-year warranty.

You have to ask yourself, "Is a $2 savings worth the risk?"

I have a new server in an elementary school, a Dell power edge 2850. What size of APC UPS Battery replacement do I need.

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

elementary school: A unit of 500va or larger would serve you now and quite a way into the future.

I recommend a APC Smart UPS 1500 because it has plenty of excess backup power in which to grow!

Do you offer discounts for mutiple orders?? For exampl,e if I buy five UPS batteries can you give a discount on the total???

With that large of a power demand, I would feel comfortable with a min. of 1000va, take a look at a APC Smart 1000 or even a APC Smart 1500, which would leave a margin for expandability. The APC Smart units are hot-swapable and have a long life cycle.

Re laser printers- according to APC, it is contra indicated to use a UPS device to protect a laser printer of any kind, as the heat up load of the fuser assembly in laser printers has a very large power demand when warming up that can overload even larger units momentarily.

I have a dell dimension 8300 and another home brew tower with crt monitor, the dell has a flat screen. One dell scanner/printers, one hp 610 fax/scanner/printer, and an Epson C62 printer. Also a linksys router with dsl modem. I have a back-ups 650 with a dead battery that I was thinking of replacing the battery in that one. Also I have a Smart UPS 1400 mod # SU1400RMBX120. The batteries for the 1400 are around $200 give or take $20. My question, should I just replenish the batteries in the 1400 or the 650? My inclination is to reburbish the 1400 since I have a couple of computers with one being for my business. The batteries for the 650 I can pick up local for apprx. $25 anytime if I decide to use the 650 for something else. Any advice would be appreciated

that's correct to a point, it depends on the size of the UPS. Larger units would not have a problem with the laser printer--like 2200va and larger.

We have a smartups 2000 that needs a new battery. The ups consists of two units. The top unit has (PE) next to the part number and the bottom (PB). The battery you suggest for replacement is 122-12CE18-4. Is this a user replaceable battery?

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Pat,

Yes, that's correct, in the APC Smart 2000 units, they had a control unit and the battery pack. The 12ce18-4 is the compatible replacement and you can replace it.

My APC SUA750 UPS has a "replace battery" light lit. I went shopping online and very few people stock the 12v 8Ah battery packs. Instead you stock the 12v 7.5Ah battery. Is this a safe replacement? What is the difference?

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Dear Anonymous,
The specs call for an 8 amp, that's the minimum the unit needs. Think of the battery in the UPS as the fuel tank, installing a smaller tank will result in the unit not operating properly .

We do offer a upgrade to 9 amps(same physical size) which will make your unit backup time longer. Go here:

We have a new HP Proliant ML350 server with a Smart-UPS 700 battery. The battery needs to be replaced. What would be the best size battery for the server?

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Dear Anonymous,
For the best results, you should replace the batteries with the OE specification, in the case of your unit, it's an 18amp hour battery. Our part is 12ce18-2c. In some instants you can upgrade but normally is best to use the original specs.

I have a printer, scanner, speakers,pc,and monitor plugged into a surge protector in which is plugged into the apc 650 pro. And that is plugged in to the wall. Is this ok or is there a better way of do this?

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Dear Anonymous,

The printer is an overload, eliminate that and you'll be fine.

I checked your site, but you don't have replacement batteries for my two Belkin UPS models:

f6c1500-tw-rk

Do you have any suggestions where I might find them. That's almost $200 at Belkin.com

Hi Battery Expert,
I just bought a replacement battery for my 5-yr old Belkin F6C650-USB-MAC UPS from www.batterysupplyco.com. I want to know if I need to do anything with the battery before installing it. Should I install it and plug it in by itself for a while before actually using the UPS again? Did the battery come pre-charged and ready to go? Your advice is much appreciated!

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Nothing is needed, install and it's ready to go----batteries are 85% and ready to get to work, will be @ 100% is short order.

Hi,
I have a APC Smart UPS 750I, for a server.
I need to replace the battery, do you have to power down the server and the UPS and leave it off for an hour, so you won't get shocked?
How safe are smart UPS when it comes to replacing batteries.

I have a APC Smart 500va UPS and some smart 700va UPS's as well as a few rack moutable units. (Su1400RMXLB3U, SUA1500RM2U, SUA1500RMUS)

All of these units with the exception of the 500va unit use 1 - 4 12v 9Ah batteries 5.94" x 2.56" x 3.7"

The 500va unit uses 12v 7.5Ah 5.94" x 2.56" x 3.66" batteries.

I want to use one battery accross all UPS models.

Can I use the RBC17 which is the same dimensions for the most part and is a 12V 9Ah battery. This should only give me longer runtimes in the 500VA UPS. Or am I missing something?

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

No, it will work fine, slightly long run time approx. same longevity

Anonymous said...

I have a APC BK350 with a dead battery, can you supply a replacement?
The original battery is a
020326G11.
Should I use a larger battery?

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Your unit is under powered and I wouldn't recommend you replace the battery. The volt/amp rating is 350, I would upgrade to at least a 500 VA unit.

Is there a UPS battery out there that lasts longer than 5 years? I have thousands of APC units out there, though small, that are now needing battery replacement.

Anonymous said...

I was just given a APC 280 it has no battery in it. I am computer illiterate so I don't know much about these machines. When plugged in nothing lights up. Is this normal or should I order a battery.

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

It needs a battery to test.

This unit only functions with a battery installed.

my ups using 4units of battery, but i am budget for replace 1 unit. is there any problem if i am only replace 1 of it ? thanks

Rick said...

Is it possible to use an RBC24 to increase the run time of unit that normally requires an RBC22? The RBC22 contains two 12v 7.2ah while the RBC24 contains four 12v 7.2ah batteries.

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Yes, if the remaining three are low on amps the new unit will overwork and fail quickly

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Rick,

NO, space won't allow it to fit. But you can use 12ce9-2 that will add approx. 20% more run time.

I have a Back-ups XS 1500 that needs the batteries replaced. Can I leave the unit on and replace them? This is attached to our CMS and we are a 24/7 call center so I cannot power it off.

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

No, the XS1500, is not hot swap able. Only the APC's Smart series is able to function with batteries.

I apparently have an off-brand "Minuteman/MN 325" (made in China) which 'crashed' after an electrical storm last week. I had a TV, recorder, & router box all hooked up to it. The AT&T repairman said it did its job (protecting the equipment), but needs replacement.
Do I buy a replacement battery OR a whole new unit? Thanks, Richard

APC UPS Battery Expert said...

Richard,

Get a Whole new unit, as stated "it did its job!

Save money and get a Refurb Unit:

Did your unit fail? Because that APC SMART 1500 unit would work well for the work station
